Since 1996, Dr. Plewe has taught courses in cartography, GIS, world regional geography, and public lands. His research interests include historical GIS/cartography (especially the history of the Church) and spatial information theory (especially issues of uncertainty). His 2012 Mapping Mormonism: An Atlas of Latter-day Saint History won multiple national awards in cartography and Church history. In 1997, he received his PhD in Geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He loves to explore, especially on foot.
